The day dawned bright and beautiful! We had breakfast at Kings Sooper, yogurt and fruit and water! We met Rebecca and her boys at the Zoo in Denver shortly after they opened!

Here's all the little ones together in front of the zebras and ostrich! Paige's shirt says "It's a Girl's World, Boys Just Live Here". However, this trip was rife with boys, and very little girls, so it was just wishful thinking!!
View of Denver from the zoo. Rory loves big cities and loved the tall buildings!!
This was the first thing we saw walking in the zoo!! He was beautiful and sat sunning himself in the warmness!
Denver Zoo was HUGE!! We walked FOREVER it seemed! The animals were out and active and there was lots to see! Grizzly bears were spatting with each other. Rory decided they were MUCH bigger than he was!! Check out those claws!
Kids ran around and had super fun! At lunch I felt a bit woozy, so drank LOTS of water, and felt a bit better---whooo....altitude sickness in it's fullness would STINK! We really had a great time talking and enjoying the weather, getting a sun burn, and seeing everything (well, lots of it...we skipped some too!).
After the zoo, it was about 4-5 pm, so Rebecca and her boys headed home, and I called a friend in Denver and we met at Old Chicago. We wanted Thai, but the kids nixed that. I think they should try it! We had a fantastic dinner, catching up, though his beautiful wife couldn't join us. I missed her!
We decided to drive to Colorado Springs that evening, as a storm was coming through, and the drive between Denver and Colorado Springs in a storm is not the best! We stopped in Castle Rock to take this picture of the sunset. Beautiful!!

By the time we got to the hotel in Colorado Springs, it was blustery and cold and not so calm!! Rory lost all his root beer float we got right before getting to the hotel, as in his words, "the wind blew me right over!"
