Just what a parent longs to hear:
Kids going to bed....

Paige tattling: Rory just said a bad word.
Me: Quit tattling.
Paige: It was BAD--it was the "F" and the "B" word.
Internal me: WHAT THE HECK?
Me: Paige, quit tattling.
Me: Rory get out here NOW.
Rory comes out, head and shoulders hanging.
Me: Rory, what is going on?
Rory: Paige tattles about everything.
Me: I know, but why are you saying bad words?
Rory: But she tattles.
Me: Rory, what was the "F" word you just said?
Rory leaning up to my ear to whisper: Fart
Me: Okay (laughing inside too! Cause WHEW!!)
Me: What was the "B" word you said?
Rory leaning up to my ear to whisper: Butt
Me: Rory, you know better that that.
Rory: Well, our bedroom does smell like that.
Me thinking...showers...showers, I tell you all the time!!
Me: Okay, go talk to your father about this. He won't be happy.
Rory starts to cry.
Rory: But he'll get me in LOTS of trouble
After much cajoling and me giving facial expressions to Chad to stop smiling (he has a nasty habit of that) and a threat of "if I have to tell Dad, it will be MUCH worse for you", Rory tells him the "F" word, then the "B" word.

LOL Laying on the floor laughing!! But only in our minds....promise!!

Chad: Words are powerful, you have to use proper words, and that was not appropriate.
Rory still crying: But Paige told!
Chad: Do you like crying?
Me: Do you like being embarrassed?
Rory with a little teeny: no....
Okay.....let's not have that again.
Rory: Okay, I'm sorry.

Went back to the room to see how they were doing, as Rory was still crying.
Rory: She said, na na na and made fun of me.
Paige: What???? (all innocent)
Rory: She's such a mean jerk.
Me: Paige, I hope it makes you happy to say mean things to your brother when he's sad he made a mistake.
Paige: Well....
Me: Again, he looks up to you, that wasn't very nice to be unkind to him. And now he's awfully sad.
Paige: Hufff

Sounds now coming from the room:
Paige crying. I'm sorry Rory.
Rory: You didn't have to tell.
Paige: Well those are rude words!

Sigh....is it bedtime yet???
