Below the cauldron, there are miles of trails through the "molten land". We walked on MANY of them! Just so you know....miles of lava rock in summer is H O T!! Below is a picture of the start! They didn't know what was coming! Hee hee!
Doesn't that look hot and awesome? Apparently, before we sent the astronauts up to the moon, they trained here! Pretty cool to know! WWII soldiers also trained for winter warfare in Bend at Mt Bachelor as well!

In the forest service center here, the kids learned about all the rock and how it's made. There was a pretty cool deal where water would shoot up around different rocks, so they could show how pumice was a rock, but floated! They thought that was AWESOME as Rory said!
