While Chad and Piper went to coaches training for soccer, we went to Farewell Bend for a picnic. This was the spot where Bend kinda started..the bend in the river was a post office for a time. Now it's right across the river from the Old Mill District which used to be--imagine--the Old Mill, and now is the upscale shopping and movie theater for Bend.
It has a great sandy beach area for swimming and relaxing...and BEAUTIFUL lawn. I thought about how I'd like to mow that lawn....ahhhh!!
This park has lots of trails through it and along the river, and happens to be around the area where Paige and I will run our first 5k on Thanksgiving! Bend is beautiful!
